Ithaca or Ithaka is an island in the Ionian Sea, in Greece, with an area of 118 km² (45 sq. miles) and three thousand inhabitants. It is an independent municipality of the prefecture of Kefalonia and Ithaka, and lies off the northeast coast of Kefalonia. The municipality of Ithaca includes some smaller islands as well. The capital, Itháki (Vathý), has one of the world's largest natural harbors. |

The Municipality of Livathos is located in the south-western department of the island and is perhaps the most fertile municipality of Kefalonia. It has a population of 4763 (2001 inventory). In Livathos belong the settlements of Vlahata, Lourdata, Metaxata, Mousata, Peratata, Svoronata, Spartia, Lakithra, Pessada, Karavado and Keramies.

It is also the smallest in both land area (46.699 km²) and population (1,053 inhabitants at the 2001 census). The seat of the community and only significant town is Valsamata |
